Robertson Bell

Objectives

A well known not-for-profit and government agency recruiter Robertson Bell realised that whilst they were seen as leaders and professionals within their community and client base, outside of this circle, their brand identity was not successfully engaging new business.

Robertson Bell approached 1721 Studio, after being recommended to us within the recruitment community with the urgent requirement to raise the standard of their brand first and website second.

Strategy

After an initial scoping and alignment meeting, we introduced Robertson Bell to our Brand Discovery process where we undertook an ‘audience need’ first approach. The output was a strong recognisable brand identity, not overstated and with a people to people narrative.

Eye contact

Casually professional, this was the objective of the key brand imagery with people looking out into the audience, without intensity, but engaging through eye contact, relaxed and smiling. This black and white imagery then juxtaposed well against the striking Robertson Bell hot pink.

We chose a beautiful typeface to form the headline statements and developed a logotype that was classic, but modern when shown only as the ‘RB’ lockup.

Engaging Social

With the development of simple ‘RB’ lockup, Robertson Bell now for the first time had a clean online identity. Setting up their refreshed profiles and establishing a house style for their posts, the goal being, to put Robertson Bell in a stronger position to maintain their online, social facing visual identity.

With all of the elements combined, imagery, colour set and typography, this brand stands tall, its voice being overwhelmingly friendly, sustaining enough corporate indicators aligning them correctly with their audience.

 

With this new brand identity it was a very smooth transition to digital delivery of the website design. Striking hero imagery and the careful use of the colour set has build them an easy to use and engage website.
